Westcott Vineyards

Westcott Vineyards grows grapes at Jordan, in the Twenty Mile Bench sub-appellation of Niagara Peninsula. It dates its founding to 2008.

Where it sits

Westcott Vineyards is at Jordan, and its fruit falls inside Twenty Mile Bench, one of the sub-appellations nested within Niagara Peninsula. A sub-appellation is the narrower claim: a wine may carry it or the wider appellation name, and the boundaries are set in regulation rather than by the winery. The regions page covers how those lines are drawn.

What it grows

The winery works with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Cabernet Franc and Gamay.

Each of those has a page here on how it behaves in Ontario: the heat it needs to ripen, the Brix it reaches at harvest, and which parts of the province actually plant it.

Vineyard area: Home Farm 40 acres; Butlers' Grant 43 acres.
