Domaine Labranche

Domaine Labranche grows grapes at Saint-Isidore, in the IGP-Vin du Québec appellation of Quebec. It dates its founding to 2009.

Where it sits

Domaine Labranche is at Saint-Isidore in Quebec. Quebec has no geographic appellations in the way Ontario and British Columbia do: the province recognises just two reserved wine appellations, Vin du Québec and Vin de glace du Québec, and both are certifications a producer opts into rather than places on a map. This winery holds IGP-Vin du Québec. How appellation systems differ across the country is covered on the Canadian wineries page.

What it grows

The winery works with Riesling, Gamay, Marquette, Petite Perle, Frontenac Noir and Saint-Pépin.

Where a grape has a page here, it covers how that variety behaves in Canadian conditions: the heat it needs to ripen, the Brix it reaches, and where it is planted.

Visiting

group tastings and year-round agrotourism (cabane à sucre, cabane à pommes, cabane au soleil); a visit walks through the maple stand and the organic orchard and ends with a tasting

Also in Quebec: Domaine Les Petits Cailloux, Domaine Pelchat Lemaître-Auger. The full list is on the Quebec page.
